Drug testing
Manufacturing and processing – engineering, foodstuffs, paper etc – can create a hazardous cocktail of machinery, components, products and waste, plus manual handling issues. A small lapse in attention could have serious consequences for the individual, colleagues and the company.

The reputation of a company can be tainted by the behaviour of its employees. Local bus companies have been known to complain about employees smoking cannabis on journeys; daytime behaviour in local pubs is commented on; drug dealers start to operate in company car parks. These activities can be prevented by the introduction and enforcement of a drug and alcohol policy.

Medscreen specialises in drug and alcohol testing services. We help you get started with your policy, and work with you to develop a drug and alcohol education programme. We provide random, post-incident, pre-employment and pre-access testing. If you have your own occupational health unit, we can provide training in specimen collection, and can work with them on education messages to support the policy.

Drug & Alcohol Awareness
Medscreen’s drug awareness courses are designed to provide an understanding and recognition of the indicators of drug and alcohol use and abuse, so that delegates can confidently respond to the provisions of their company policy on drugs and alcohol.

They are aimed at supervisors, managers, staff representatives and others who have a responsibility associated with their company's drug and alcohol policy. The courses cover the sensible use of alcohol, the side effects of medicines and the harmful effects of illegal drugs.

Course content is tailored to the company’s needs. The courses can be presented by Medscreen alone, or in conjunction with company personnel. Medscreen will work with the commissioning department to devise an appropriate content and structure that will support the development, implementation and maintenance of the company’s policy, including the introduction of drug and alcohol testing programmes
